Leland Dudley Obituary: View Leland Dudley's Obituary by Los Angeles Times

Dudley, Leland M. Lee Dudley of San Marino, born June 21, 1930, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012. He spent his 82nd birthday with his family. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Dudley, son David Dudley, daughter Leslie Dudley and son Patrick Dudley. Lee will be remembered as a loving husband, great father and friend and a humanitarian with a passion for golf. A San Marino resident since 1970, he and his wife of 55 years were married in 1957. Dudley was born in Los Angeles, CA. He attended Hoover High School in Glendale, CA. He earned his bachelor's degree in commerce and finance from Occidental College in 1953 and served in the United States Air Force 1954-1955. Dudley was one of L.A.'s tech pioneers joining IBM in 1956 and starting a career that spanned 43 years as an IBM executive. An integral part of the community, Dudley served as the IBM Community Relations Director from 1985 until his retirement in 1999. After retirement, Lee started his own business consulting firm, Lee Dudley Solutions, and worked with the Private Industry Council, assisting in the formation of the WIB. He was continuously active in service to the WIB since his retirement. Dudley served on the board and member of the executive and operations committees of Los Angeles County INFO LINE, now 211 LA County, for 22 years. Lee was dedicated to civil rights and equality and worked to implement changes at IBM to help create a diverse workforce. Lee loved his family, friends, golf and working to serve the community.
