I love this book. I keep it on my Kindle as my "go to" support book. I have read it at least three times. I often get off the phone with my mother, feeling frustrated and upset, and pick up this book. I have all the typical BPD support books, Eggshells, BPD Mother, Surviving, Oz, etc, but this one seems to get to the heart of the matter, which is validating the adult child. I don't need a history or explanation of BPD, I've read all those books. This is the book that tells me, "You are not a disloyal or unfeeling daughter to feel frustrated with your mom. Dealing with a borderline mother can be exhausting and overwhelming, so cut yourself some slack!" Somehow, this is what we all want to hear, and so for that reason, I think this book does what other books do not do. It is like the "validating witness" that helps us through the experience. I will never delete it from my Kindle. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I wanted it to be longer. This author does such a great job of the subject, I wish it were three times as long!
