Economic success under Obama ought not to be secret

Psst, I have a secret. It is amazing how much the economy has improved since President Obama entered office.

It's equally amazing how well this has been kept quiet.

The Dow stock market average is up about 50 percent in the last two years. The NASDAQ stock market average is up an astonishing 60 percent.

In the first four months of 2009 the U.S. economy lost around 2.7 million jobs. In the first four months of 2011 we have gained over 750,000 jobs. I don't think it's a stretch to claim that in early 2009 we were on the brink of economic disaster.

Sure, there are too many Americans still without work and still suffering from the bursting of the real estate and stock market bubbles. It can be said that we need much more good news on the economic front. However, the improvement over the first two years of the Obama Administration is indisputable.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share this little secret with you. Or maybe I wasn't supposed to tell anyone?
